    Flat Nasty - Aug 26th

Looked up this: Looks like there'll be plenty to do. How extreme are you wanting to get? Your rig will be more capable than mine (is any one else you know coming?), but it looks like there's some good intermediate stuff with extreme off-shoots in that 5/10 section.

Well, here's how she's sitting now: Looks like I'll have to do a little trimming after all... Added some horsepower to help with the larger tires too :brows:

That is pretty cool. Best I was able to get @ 96% coverage with a smart phone and a welding hood:

    Bike carrier options

If you get one like this... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002Z9O8C/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ...it has a bolt and insert instead of a pin. Takes a lot of the wobble away. NOT tow rated, but works great with my 4-bike hitch mount Thule. This is before I put a new spare...

Spacers on: Before After Before After Unfortunately didn't fix the rubbing/moaning sound. Thinking it may be the lower control arms now. It's driving great though and only makes the sound when cornering hard (think u-turn).

Got everything pressed out and ready. There was a little surface rust so I did a quick grind/sand/paint. Parts are now showing delivery for tomorrow!

Alright, made some small progress last night. I got the arm out and the ball joint out. It was totally destroyed. I got one of the bushings pressed out then the second the center fell through. I've got time to get it out though because the new parts have been delayed until Friday.

Yeah, that's a bit more than the $60 I spent  The bushings I'll have to press in, but the ball joint is in the bracket already. I guess I'll still have to press it into the a-arm though. Like this: I've got a little shop press that should work though.

OK, everything when together great and thankfully the front end is doing well, but naturally there were more unexpected surprises. I went to turn the key and nothing happened. The battery was at 6 volts  so it seems I still have a voltage leak. I got it charged back up after a few hours...

Getting close! Welded them on last night and put a coat of paint on. Still not real pretty welds, but I think I'm improving. Once I turned off the auto-set wire feed and set it manually it got better. I know these perches are a lot more stout than the originals though :D I should be able to...

    The Butters JK Build

I picked up a new Millermatic a couple of days ago and needed some extra practice. I decided I would try and re-do the rubicon swaybar stabilizer bracket that didn't work out before. I cut the old stabilizer arm off and welded it back on at a new angle to rotate the swaybar up higher. It now...

Well, thanks to my new Millermatic I'm making more progress. I know it's not pretty, but it should get the job done. Considering I've never welded before, I don't think it turned out too bad :idontknow: I practiced a bit the day before on some of the scraps I cut off for the base, but...
