    Michigan UP's Rabbit Back Point

Enjoy sharing our adventures with my friends. Our Jeep, Stitch, has been a great enabler. We explore places we'd have never even thought to explore 5 years ago. Here, we're at Rabbit Back Point in Michigan's Upper Peninsula as the Sun's starting to cast long shadows. I've been pleasantly...

    The Tire/Rim Saga Continues

Remember that tire story? Saga continues... So, mid-June, place order for rims & tires from Tirerack. Get call saying, you know rims are bo'd, and we have tires? Yep, knew that, go ahead and ship tires. They're due to receive the rims around 10 July. No problemo, I've got plenty of other...

    Daily Ha Ha - 9

Here's a good one for you.... Late June, placed an order for 5 sets of rim, tire, TPMS, lug nuts, etc. Rims were backordered, no problemo. Only two weeks. 2nd week July, vendor A sends me note, says, got tires, rims no available until 7/30. What do I want to do. I checked vendor B. They...

Current Thoughts: Best Programmer for JK?

Howdy, Doing a lift and regearing shortly, need to get a programmer. Searching the site, haven't seen anything 'recent' about programmers. What is the best programmer currently? Looking to adjust for gearing, tire size, as well as change settings for things like sway bar disconnect (Rubi)...

    Stitch is Going Vertical

Time for Stitch to get a lift. Put it off for a number of years. Functionally, didn't really need it. Only 3x have I ever really been in a situation where it would've been particularly useful. Always thought a lifted JK looked good. However, continuing to upgrade Stitch, the weight's been...

    Intermittent Power Steering

Greetings, Could use some insight. '15 JKU Rubi. 33" tires. My wife told me the steering was binding up on her today, seemed to always happen when she'd come to a stop. When she got home, I took it for a test drive. It's basically acting as if the power steering is intermittently turning...

    Rimd Width for BFG KO2 35" ??

Greetings, Would appreciate input. Moving from stock JKU Rubi '15, with 33's on stock rims (7.5" width), to 35s. Running KO2s currently, expect to simply go to KO2s in the 35" size. For 35" KOs, BFG specifies rim widths from 8.5-11". What are some of the pros/cons between smaller and wider...

Method Racing MR305 NV - How's Hold Up?

Howdy, Looking to make some changes. Curious what the community's current thoughts are regarding Method Racing's MR305 NV. I see them from time-to-time in my area. For those who have a set, or you've wheeled with someone who does: How are they holding up? Any obvious pros/cons? Durability...

    Splish 'n Splash

Came across the picture again... This past October, my wife Kimberly and I were wheeling across Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The western half of UP had seen days of rain, just starting to slacken as we got to the Crystal Falls - Ironwood region (western half). The trails were all heavily...

Pulleys - What Everyone Should Know

Seems a lot of fellow wheelers I talk with, regardless their experience level, aren't comfortable talking about using pulleys. So I thought I'd share... Whether you have a winch or not, if you're taking your rig off-road, sooner or later you're going to need to be pulled out of a predicament...

    Offroad Tool Stowage

Offroad Tool Stowage Been a few months with other distractions. Thought I'd share a couple current thoughts... Some of you may have seen my posts over the last few years, asking how folks stow their tools in their Jeeps. I've appreciated the range of solutions. Many tend to involve a mix of...

    Michigan's Western UP

Yep. Stayed at the new Country Inn & Suites in Houghton, this time. CI&S is also pet friendly. Had our Swissy, Freyja, with us on this trip. Tried to get out to High Rock Bay and the rocket range. ORV routes much east of Copper Harbor are restricted right now though :(. Perhaps next year.

    Michigan's Western UP

Spent most of last week touring ORV routes and fire trails in Michigan's western Upper Peninsula. It was a flat-out wonderous trip. In my entire life I've never enjoyed such an incredible Autumn display. Eastern end of the UP, still almost all green...very spotty. But the western third? Tons...

What was done to your rig this week?

New Armor, Cross Member Even while taking care, our outing to SMORR left us with damage I needed to attend to. I'll post an update regarding sliders separately. One of the first things I did was install some armor under Stitch. Basic oil pan, cross member, transmission skid. And, for what we...

LOD - What's Going On? After-Purchase Support is Seriously Lacking

Greetings, Does anyone know if there're problems a'foot, at LOD? Back in May, I reached out asking about product availability for a last-minute purchase. They were great. Prompt response. Got the product shipped to me earlier than their already aggressive time table. Just in time for me to...

What did Brown Santa show up with today..

After a recent outing with rocks involved, we ended up with the most damage we've ever had. The past few weeks have been spent in recovery mode. We originally went with EVO armor for our JK. Some of that, well, doesn't look the same anymore. And, the tank skid definitely has taken on a new...
