French owned, Portuguese driven, Stellantis is killing Jeep etc...

They were only offering the manual with the v6 for 25 hoping more people ordered the four cylinder. They finally realized that might not be such a great strategy.

lol, I didn't even realize that.

Years ago when I started in the industry I'm in, I used to think that the folks running these big companies really knew their shit. I mean, you really gotta be pretty smart to keep a company with hundreds, if not thousands, of people running smooth, right? Then I started meeting the lower level managers, then their bosses, then the upper management, and whoo boy, was I ever wrong. Granted, there are some really sharp guys out there, but the worst were the middle management & up where all the fuckheads hide out. I have met some people that at best are just riding it out & don't care, and at worst, are some seriously incompetent people that had no business being in the positions they held.

yep, over the years worked with a few of those that seemed to always fall upwards no matter how badly they failed at their job; some completely destroying the company then walking away with a golden parachute before shit hit the fan.

Yeah it’s called the Peter Principle. There’s a book written about it called The Peter Principle if you can believe it. Basically folks are promoted to their highest level of incompetence especially in large organizations.

that's exactly what contributed to the demise of Yahoo, I saw "execs" hired and then in turn hired their "team" from their previous company only to miserably fail but yet walk away with millions in bonus and severance packages.

Take the Peter Principle, toss in a good measure of DEI and you have the current mess the DemonCrats have forced upon us...
