There is no privacy. We now live in a surveillance state which vastly exceeds anything imagined in Georgia Orwell's 1984.
Moden cell phones are always listening. Latest ones use their cameras to recognize our faces. Cell phones report the Bluetooth identites of other devices detected around them and upload this data to places like Google. Cell phones report our cell phones identity and location for purpose of 4G/5G service, but also for maps and precise location tracking which is somehow supposed to be useful for us.
Our cell phones upload all of the photos, videos, and voice recordings we make/take to the cloud where they may be analyzed.
As we use apps and web browsers, the apps and web browsers are continuously communicating with thousands of sites so they can know what we are doing, and what we are looking at. This data is captured for use later.
Previously, Edward Snowden revealed that the calling and called metadata for each phone call is being transferred to the government. We were shocked at the time, but there is no evidence that this practice was terminated.
As we drive down the road, cameras on traffic lights and many other locations capture our licence plates, and photos of our faces. Toll tags affixed to our windshield are recorded whenever we go through a toll booth, or any other location equipped to read them. This data is for sale to any agency or company interested in buying it.
When we travel by plane, a photo of our face is taken, and our nude body is scanned. DHS has this data and is free to retain it for any purpose.
As we walk down the street, security cameras on the front of homes are capturing what they see and uploading it to servers on the Internet.
Our fingerprints are captured by our cell phone, and are often captured by the government.
With the advent of AI, all of our online and many of our (supposedly) private activities are being analyzed and become part of the model that AI uses to produce responses. Any data collected from anywhere can be used to feed and train AI. Given the current and future capabilities of AI, AI will know more about us than even we do, and this information will be used to provide responses for others.
