When Germany was defeated in WW2 the US and the Soviet Union seized technology and recruited engineers and scientists from Germany. The technology for the ‘Space Race’ was largely based on advances made by German Engineers.

The US got most of the engineers and scientists but the Soviets got most of the Hardware.

Lots of Soviet and American scientific projects benefit from the technology.

Yep. It's been gradually increasing for at least 10 years. Not just tech salary, but look at insurance, energy costs, etc. The overhead at a dealership is crazy. And a lot of techs complain they're still not making enough. Hence the shortage.
