The Return of BIGGER Black

I looked into that, as It also gives you 3 more inches of clearance, but because of that it totally changes the oil uptake, and you have to pull the motor and the bottom half of the motor off, change timing cover, bunch of other things, so the $500 skid seems like a good alternative 😂
Wow, that’s crazy. Glad the skid works and is much easier than all of that.

I bought EVO’s pro tranny skid a couple years ago because the forest roads over here are littered with downed branches and was concerned about a branch coming up and taking out a tranny coolant line but the 21s have a different motor mount and it doesn’t fit. Mell said they were working on a fix. After watching your video today, I asked EVO if they have a fix for it yet and was told it’s still in development. Lol, it’s been in development for 2 years.

Ha ya that’s probably not coming then, I was hoping they had a 392 one but Rusty’s makes nice stuff too and didn’t disappoint. There really aren’t many 392 options out there and I couldn’t take myself serious or come back here with a full belly skid, and while I haven’t trail tested it yet it’s pretty stout.

Yeah, it looks stout for sure.

OK, have had the jeep apart for the better part of a week, installing RockJock 4x4 high steer with PSC ram skid and full psc conversion kit, Revolution front shafts and diff cover. The Rock Jock kit is beefy and nice, PSC kit is well made too, but this is hardly a job for someone with big hands, makes some tasks nearly impossible. But either way im getting there, got a lot more done this afternoon and hope to be mostly wrapped up tomorrow.

Looking great Ben! Definitely not the simplest install to do. Glad you are liking the RockJock kit 🤙🏼
Thanks dude, it’s definitely a nice pairing, was going to text you earlier and forgot, this ram is 8”, do you know if I should just set my steering stops to factory or try and squeeze a bit more out of it? Is it an issue if the ram doesn’t fully cycle because steering stops?

Definitely get all the adjustment you can with all the components cycling ok. Ram may still have a tad more at full lock which you will feel in the steering at full lock. At that point, you just don’t force it, you will feel it. But it should set up really close.
Wow, that’s awesome! Installing that PSC looked to be a tough job! So you went full hydro?
That’s RockJocks specific ram assist kit.

Ok sounds good, I’ll definitely dial it in then.

Alright, back in the ground and rolling, think I got just about all the air out of it, felt great on the test drive, was pretty wild how responsive it is compared to how it was. I am running into a bit of a steering range issue, with how the attachment on the tie rod wants to sit, it hits the diff cover, I tried rotating it up but then the ram contacts the underside of the track bar bracket when turning passenger, so for now I have the steering bumps out and it leaves me about one inch of ram cycle on each end, which I really don’t like the feeling as I know it’s still pushing and you can feel it pushing but you barely feel it reach its end point.

I’m curious what you all would recommend, I’ll try to get a better pic tomorrow, but it’s pretty solid contact on the diff cover if I let it go that far. Was thinking I could go back to factory diff cover and see, or maybe a different tie rod clamp, also I’ve remembered reading about caster on here and Psc but not sure, so curious of any thoughts around caster in general or if it would help alleviate this issue and use the majority of my range. Pics don’t show the contact but just the set up. IMG_3403.jpegIMG_3400.jpegIMG_3402.jpegIMG_3401.jpeg

Great job getting that all done! 👊🏻 Don’t have answers for the tie-rod/ram issue though, sorry.
