I've used this kit from O'Reilly's on two occasions. It stopped the cracks dead in their tracks.Got any recommendations for a good kit
Okay, that sounds easy enough.
Thanks!

it's been a long time since I opted for the repair, but last time I had one done it was $40 and a windshield shop actually used to occupy a grocery store parking lot corner with a pop-up canopy which made it more convenient than going to their location.Looking around online, 60 seems to be cheapest. You may be able to get a kit and do it yourself. It's not tough. Drill a small hole, use a suction like tool to fill it in with resin, then a UV light cures the resin. That's how we did it.
Neither do I but I was told that they pay to fix those small chips as they’d rather do that than for a entire replacement.Yeah, I don't have windshield coverage on this Jeep![]()
Bro, I worked many years behind the wheel of a diesel. They may act like little angels, but 85% of them are the most dangerous drivers on the road. But I thought "all" truck drivers were perfect little angles and we should just be happy we can use their roads
Thanks for the tip. I'll have to keep that in mind for the future.
LOL - tell that to @kevman65. He seems to think the rest of us are the ones at fault for anything we don't like about trucks.Bro, I worked many years behind the wheel of a diesel. They may act like little angels, but 85% of them are the most dangerous drivers on the road.
Just glad I am dispatch/management now.
Damn that really sucks. When I got the van first thing I asked my insurance company was is my windshield covered. It has all kinds of Mercedes bells and whistles. When I looked up replacements they were upwards of $1200. They told me I could replace it under my comprehensive coverage and just pay the deductible. Maybe that's an option you have too.SON OF A BITCH!! On our way back to Carson City yesterday, we got behind a couple of slow moving semi trucks and as I pulled up behind them, the guy in back started to get all kinds of pissy impatient and tried several times to pass the guy in front of him. After the 3rd attempt, the mother fuckin driver decided that he was going to straddle the shoulder in what looked like his way of telling the truck in front (who was pulling an empty flat bed) to speed up. Of course, when he did this, he started to kick all kinds of gravel and before I could back up far enough, one hit our relatively brand new windshield hard and cracked it

But hey, I know the guy was just doing his job and I got what I deserved and I should just be grateful that I can drive on highways made for him
What sucks the most is that we have adaptive cruise control and that means this is a super expensive windshield to replace. I can only hope this crack doesn't grow or at least, long enough for me to get it fixed in place.![]()
I actually got windshield insurance on both my 392 and new RAM and I've already used it once for the 392. Cost only $600 and it's good for 3 windshield replacements. Well worth the cost and I should have gotten it for my big Gladiator too being that it has adaptive cruise control.Damn that really sucks. Might as well try fixing it yourself and potentially save some money. What's the worse that could happen? End up paying someone to fix what you couldn't....hahaI actually got windshield insurance on both my 392 and new RAM and I've already used it once for the 392. In any case, I tried the windshield repair and I'm really happy with the results of it so far.

Unfortunately, no. This was my first time using a repair kit and I wasn't too sure what I was doing. However, I'm sure there will be a next timeWill there be a video?
Throw a small rock at your window and make another chip.Unfortunately, no. This was my first time using a repair kit and I wasn't too sure what I was doing. However, I'm sure there will be a next time![]()

I was gonna get the kit that Tony recommended but my local auto parts store was out of them. I got the RainX kit and thought it worked great. I'll have to take an after shot but you can barely see it's there. Mainly just the impact point and maybe one of leg of the start and just barely.Awesome, what kit did you use?

Going to buy one and put it in the glove box. You know you’ll use it sooner or later.I was gonna get the kit that Tony recommended but my local auto parts store was out of them. Just make sure it doesn't freeze or get too hot in the summer.Going to buy one and put it in the glove box. You know you’ll use it sooner or later.
Good point, we get both.Just make sure it doesn't freeze or get too hot in the summer.
Oh, there are shitty drivers behind the wheel of a personal vehicle.LOL - tell that to @kevman65. He seems to think the rest of us are the ones at fault for anything we don't like about trucks.
