What was done to your rig this week?

Just an observation but a cold air intake is a waste of money on a 3.6 all they are good for is letting in more dirt. Performance gains are nil most people buy into the hype of the internet. The factory air box will flow all the air a 3.6 can use and keep it cleaner.
It’s your Jeep do what you will if it came that way I’d find a factory replacement.
Just my opinion.

If you JUST have a CAI all you've done is make more noise.

IF you add a custom exhaust AND a programmer with custom tunes, you can get some ponies.

Since you have a 2024, the custom tunes are out of the question.

Rear pinion seal replacement and a new and improved steel muffler hanger.

Not sure how this happened for sure but I do have a very small blemish on one of the ears of the driveshaft.

Shop here in Redding covered the pinion shaft with RTV… never seen that before.

Even though the seal had a gasket of sorts I added RTV around the flange.

I marked the nut and yoke before removing so I snuck up to the mark and went a smidge beyond. Felt pretty good so I’m hopeful I won’t need a new pinion and such in 50 miles. 😂 I measured the temp of the pinion housing and diff after getting to work the last few days so I will see if it’s any different tomorrow morning.

My new steel muffler hanger… this one should last longer than the OEM aluminum ones.

That’s a good trick. Never thought of that. Definitely better than counting three Mississippi once the impact kicks in.
Thanks, but not my idea, was a combination of info from Eddie and my gear guy. Called the guy who did my gears to buy a new seal and even though he didn’t have it, he told me the mark trick. It’s not full-proof though, there’s still a chance you can could mess it up. Tried to rent Eddie’s inch pound torque wrench but nobody had one.

Ugh, last night when going to bed I realized that I forgot to put loctite on the pinion nut! I added a little to the yoke nuts.

Am I hosed?

Edit: yeah, I am. Having a new crush sleeve put in next week. Grrr
