I have no idea if they’re any better or worse than anyone else but, they (Polyperformance & Synergy) seem like a real good company. Any issues I’ve had were quickly and professionally resolved. They’re U.S.A. made right in San Luis Obispo, CA. I’ve met a bunch of the sales and manufacturing staff (and an engineer)…. All of them seemed to enjoy what they do and where they work. The boss lets employees take the company rigs to Rubicon, and KOH unsupervised. He expects them to take them out wheeling and give out swag, one sales employee told me the boss was okay with vehicles getting reasonably damaged so long as there’s pictures and videos of his product being used.
I would reuse the oem ones. Why would you want to change bolt size?While we are on the topic, do you know if 9/16 bolts will fit into that track bar or do you have to use the original M14 ones?
To tighten it up, it's a common thing to do, don't make it the right thing to do though, hahaha. I am not speaking from personal experience either, just other people do it sometimes since the bolts are so close in size. Makes sense thanks.The problem is most places push certain information/products because it’s what they decided to buy. They can have issues with them but will never tell you.
The information you will find here is from real world, personal experience and feedback. And to be clear, giving criticism to a company doesn’t automatically mean we are just trashing on them. MetalCloak is far from having the worst products out there but still far short in some areas in my opinion. We have seen welds break, bars easily bend, their rear “D3” drop brackets bend with any good hit to a rock and literally replaced a newer track bar bushing this week that was causing death wobble.
There’s no better way to test out parts than out on the trail abusing them which a lot of people here do and are here to share that feedback to help others. And as a shop, we get to see all kinds of products/setups come in and get to see what works and what doesn’t.
Dave beating stuff up?? No way….I’d agree with the synergy sentiment, I get the feeling the owner (Dave?) wants his stuff beat to hell to prove that is top notch, not just saying it. Def other good brands too tho from my experience. RJ4x4 being one of them
That's reassuring. Some say it is to remove any movement which can oval out the holes. I guess there's something to that, but at the same time, torquing it to spec should prevent that I would think unless there's a flaw. Yes having bolts to proper torque is important. Sometimes you just have to think, so Jeep is going to manufacture millions of Jeeps with bolts that are too small and will oval brackets???That's reassuring.
