Well that sucks. I still have stock gears but might bump up a regear on the list.. not sure how well they’re gonna put it back together. I’ve caught so many missed items from work being done at this dealership on my JK, including hand tight water pump bolts.

I asked because I’m curious if they’ll warranty it with aftermarket gears.
 
Update: got the gladiator back this morning. Basic warranty was up but they covered it under drivetrain warranty. Good thing since the damn sensor is over $500.

Correction Edit: covered under powertrain warranty. Not drivetrain.

They replaced the sensor with the exact same sensor that failed in the first place; they are not potted and end up filling with oil. The sensors are cheaper now but you get five and you have to try each one individually to figure out which one actually fits your vehicle.
Order the Z automotive Locker sensor bypass, replaced the one in my 2018 around 2019 and no issues since.

Was cleaning out the garage and found a z auto bypass. Forgot I ordered one the last time this happened but didn’t install it because of the warranty fix. Light cleared up so far after installing. 🍻

The sensors are all labeled with different part numbers. Easy to compare them to what’s installed and get the right one in
