Maybe Trump can make appliances great again?
The new stuff sucks, not as bad as the machines in Europe but pretty close. Have you ever seen a washer dryer combo? As in you throw your clothes in and the same machine washes and then drys your clothes? I would come back from a work trip and all my clothes smelled like EuroTrash people. Although the body order residue did help me blend in. 🤣😂
That is one of the worst inventions ever. Can’t just dryer clothes, can’t just wash clothes, can’t lightly dry delicates, your fitted sheet gets tangled, too bad. Hang it outside or wash and try again. Can’t do a second load while the first one drys.

Lemon laws don't apply to appliances dummy
From Google's AI Overview:

"While most U.S. states primarily focus their lemon laws on automobiles, some states and federal laws offer protections for consumers with defective appliances. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a federal law, applies to products like appliances costing over $25 with a written warranty. If an appliance under warranty has persistent defects after multiple repair attempts, consumers may have legal recourse. "

Since states provide additional laws, it is useful to see what protections they provide. We came very close to having a freezer returned (to Sears) and refunded under lemon laws. I forget if it was a Texas or federal law.

Buy a Speed Queen and be done with it.

I was so damn tired of the junk appliances from big box stores. After our last washer took a shit and we were doing our clothes in a public laundromat I bought the exact brand that they use.

Old school. No fancy shit. The entire drum fills with water and our clothes come out CLEAN.

Been tempted to do exactly this. Do you keep a roll of quarters in the laundry room?

Magnuson-Moss is not the same as a lemon law. Knew you’d try the Google angle 😂

No, it's not.
Magnuson- Moss prevents manufacturers from denying you warranty because you replaced or added a part.
If the added part did not cause the malfunction, then warranty is intact.
Has nothing to do with Lemon Laws.

It seems that it is just part of the story.

I did have an HP computer which failed and they were unable to repair it after three service visits. HP was forced to provide me with a different unit, or a refund. I chose the refund.

Kevman, because you own a car you know a tiny bit about this act, but it is vastly more than that

It says that if the manufacturer is not able to repair according to the warranty, they must offer a full refund.

"if the product, or a component part, contains a defect or malfunction, must permit the consumer to elect either a refund or replacement without charge, after a reasonable number of repair attempts."

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson–Moss_Warranty_Act?wprov=sfla1 for details.

Bob, I'll leave you with something you can ponder.

Magnuson-Moss is Federal. The Feds don't get involved in "Lemon Laws", that is State level.

YOU invoked the "Lemon Law" under the name of "M-M", it is NOT part of the language of the "M-M".

"M-M" ONLY deals with warranty and issues involving the warranty coverage.

"L-L" deals with the same problem over X amount times in X amount of days. If problem is still not corrected, then one can invoke the "L-L" of their State.
