Are you looking for more lift without having to add in a lot of pre-load or are you just wanting to firm up your ride?
I want to keep the current height and firm it up a bit. Seems like I'm blowing through the limited uptravel I have. If I adjust the shocks to fairly firm it rides and feels better. I read about as much as I could find on this, but no real answers. I should have went with 12", but here we are...

How much preload are you running now?

I'm not a fan of adjustable shocks so I really couldn't say for sure without riding in your Jeep but why not run what you have on the firm side all the time?

Can I ask why you aren't a fan of adjustable shocks?

These e-clik pro kit is one of the best additions I have done to my Jeep. It plugs into the Jeeps OBD port and controls vehicle roll, pitch, braking, acceleration, and steering. Not to mention active suspension control and adjustment as you drive. 250 times a second!

I no longer have the front electronic sway bar and motor on my Jeep, the e-clik system takes care of it, and I can adjust it to my liking.

When rock crawling the system keeps the jeep level, when side hilling it keeps the jeep level. When doing fast desert driving, you can adjust every aspect of the suspension.

I can't see any reason someone would not want it other than price.

I have the e-click setup from Carli on my Superduty truck and can confirm it's an awesome system. I wonder how the travel compares to the EVO coilovers though?

LOL - and here I am wishing that I had less electronics controlling every aspect of my Jeep.

An honest answer would require that both have been actually tested in the same conditions and on the same Jeep.

Not gonna lie, had to look this up as I have never heard of it. Cool technology, believe they have been doing this for a while now in some of the Ultra4 cars. Pretty sure this is something KING and FOX are doing as well, or at least similar with the live valving stuff. Cool new tech but not for me personally, especially at 5K for essentially 4 shocks.

If you want my honest answer?
As someone learning and wanting to do things right? Absolutely. Too many people out there cucking for all the new fads and not enough telling the truth.
I will say, I've never wanted anything that's adjustable because it seems like too much to mess up.

I just realized that you said the following. "Seems like I'm blowing through the limited uptravel I have. If I adjust the shocks to fairly firm it rides and feels better."

Yeah, Mel looked into this when it first came out. Ultimately decided against it or at least, at that time.

Fair enough and what I can tell you is that adjustable shocks are a gimmick or at least, in the sense that it gets people who can afford the premium thinking that it's something they "need". Fact of the matter is, MOST only allow you to go from good to firm to firmer to firmest. Almost none allow you to go softer and MOST don't allow you to independently control rebound and that is a big part of what helps to smooth out your ride. And, I would be the first to say that some adjustments to firm things up can be nice and even preferable to have but, once that setting is found, MOST people never make another adjustment again. If adjustable shocks were really the next best thing since sliced bread, I can assure you I would have them on all my Jeeps.

Definitely NOT a gimmick. Tell that to the Ultra4 teams that switched to Live valve shocks this season. It's a "game changer" in off-road racing. In fact there are races where they won't allow them to race regular suspension. They will have to have their own class. All the expensive SxS have the new live valve technology, and not because it's a gimmick. It lets you valve soft, then adjust to the kind of terrain your driving. So in essence, run them at half, then you can absolutely go softer or firmer.

But I guess Ford SVT, Carli, canham, Polaris, Honda, etc are just pulling the wool over our eyes when in actuality it's more than TWICE as good as regular suspension.

And no one makes adjustments after the fact is because they have to get out and make adjustments. I can make A LOT of adjustments from the comfort of my seat.

And I'm speaking from experience from running them over a year. Not someone who has NEVER ran them and telling people they are not worth it.

And btw, I seen how you drive your Jeeps, and I believe whole heartedly they would benefit you 100%.
