Been thinking about this and the generational lack of capability crisis we have here. One of the biggest challenges we face over hopefully the next 12 years of a republican admin will be moving people from the service industry back to the production industry. If we don't start making shit here again and make these jobs attractive to the younger generation we're cooked. And AI coupled with automated production will only make it worse for them, not better. We could be losing whole generations....

Agreed 100 percent. I believe we only kicked ass in WW2 was because we were a true industrial nation. We could pivot from make making toasters to bombs and cars to tanks, etc. Everything is made overseas and if we had ti pivot, we don’t have the factories or the people to run them. I think we’re already fucked to a degree since we’re so far behind China.

As a reminder, almost everything is made in China now, and hardly anything is made in the USA. What do you mean by "fucked to a degree"? Is this an intentional understatement?

If "fucked by a degree", it seems like we are at 359 degrees now.

The only issue I see with that is most of the younger generation is scared of hard work… too entitled

We already have a superior air power consisting of planes, missiles, rockets, satellites, superior navy consisting of amazing warships and subs, a superior ground forces that will fuck the enemy up even in the worst of odds… and we have a lot of nukes.

We’ll win before we need to start turning radio flyers into tomahawks. If we can’t win after all that then we have 300+ million small arms, billions of rounds of ammo, and 50% of the population that fight for their country.

If after all of that, then we’re fucked.

I think it's not as much the kids fault, nor is it just one generation, but it's more the parents fault that the kids are this way. Helicopter moms, too many in college, DEI, and the era of participation trophies has led to a generation of pusses that can't help themselves. It's sad.
