Yes, this is about freedom. It is really what's so important to people like me and it saddens me that people like you would choose to forego yours or would demand to take it away from others and all in the name of a "slight inconvenience". Funny how you were nowhere to be found when everyone was rioting and looting over the past few weeks and not wearing masks or social distancing. :naw:

Never agreed with the protests breaking social distancing . Think they are also spreading corona.
Freedom to not wear masks and then complaining about lockdowns killing businesses ... talk about shooting yourself in the foot .

I live in Nevada, a state that still allows smoking in casinos, restaurants, bowling alleys, etc. It's been scientifically proven that smoking causes cancer, heart disease and even second hand smoke will KILL. I don't smoke and personally hate the smell of cigarette smoke but I LOVE the fact that Nevada still allows private businesses to run their business however they see fit. This, as opposed to taking away their freedom and forcing them to just shut up and obey. If I don't like how smokey a casino or restaurant is, I get to choose not to do business with them.
Early on, businesses like Costco implemented their own mask rule in order to shop at their warehouses. I TOTALLY SUPPORTED their decision as that was their right to do. Of course, I got to choose whether or not to comply or to shop somewhere else. I realize this is beyond your comprehension but that's how FREEDOM works.

I'm up in South Lake Tahoe a lot lately and pretty much nobody wears a mask. I just saw in the local paper that El Dorado County is now gonna try and enforce the mask order and why you might ask? Because 75 fuckin snitches have been complaining about it. As you just said, if you think the mask helps... wear it.... or stay home. Don't be a fuckin Karen.

I had explain this to my wife last night, in most cases the mandates of masks, especially the ones that follow with fines, isn't necessarily about the mask itself, it's about the gov't over extending power they do not, or should not have over people, kind of a where does it stop type of thing. While people will continue to argue that it's just a mask, do it for your fellow citizen, ect; if we have to follow this Mandate, what's next? Guns? Or any of the hundred hot button topics? Masks may seem trivial but there is a larger picture in mind. If people want to wear a mask for safety concerns of them self or others, that's great, but the govt is starting down a slippery slope. Granted there are plenty of people who just don't want to wear a mask and that's their right too

Since all this shit started, there have only been 6 people who've died in my neck of the woods. There have only been 215 total cases and 146 of them have already recovered. Sorry, I guess not all of us can be as enlightened as you.

If mask mandates are ended... businesses will re-open and life will get back to normal. But this won't help the Left in their attempt to blame this crap on our President. Protests, Riots, Looting, Covid....They gotta Fuck the Economy to paint themselves as the Hero...It's all politics. The Sheep are buying right into it.

Me and the family went to the Drive in last night. They're not allowing every spot full. Every other spot is in use. We flowed this. As soon as we opened our doors the people next to us were whining about social distancing. We didnt even get within 12 feet of them. They went up to complain. The bitch didnt get the support she was looking for so came back and packed up her kids to leave. Her husband said " really karen"?

Yeah, I try really hard not to "watch" the news. My slanty eyes are more accustomed to reading it.
Over the 4th of July weekend, we went to a couple of remote bars in Nevada. Out of respect to them, we called ahead and asked if we would need to wear masks to come in. Their reply was, "um, mask? I suppose you can wear a mask if it makes you feel better."
There's a reason why Cindy and I left Kalifornia as quickly as we could and moved out here.
Since this shit show started, there have only been 2 cases of china virus in Storey County. Both recovered and there have been no new cases since. Cindy and I were just up in Virginia City (in Storey County) yesterday to have a drink and to enjoy what normal life is like. Can you pick out the person visiting from California LOL

This is a great discussion. I agree with everything Eddie has said about this. So many want to claim to be victims of something in this country. If a person has health issues, as listed previously, they should take self-preservation steps, on their own. Stay home, wear a mask, social distance,...whatever.
I did not cause them to get fat, or smoke, or get high blood pressure, so dont ask me to give up my freedom to protect them. I have tried to social distance from democrats for my entire life. And that has always been because they and their worldview MAKES ME SICK!

You are right in one respect...not all states consider not wearing a seat belt a primary enforcement law, where you could get pulled over just for not wearing one...some states to this day enforce it as a secondary enforcement, where you can get fined in addition to the main reason (speeding, brake light out etc) you were pulled over. But it is on the books in all 50 states as a fineable offense...and one could argue that ALL laws are a choice...you can choose not to abide by any law. The reason I chose the seat belt law was a reference to many here that believe wearing a mask is an infringement on their rights...I used to feel the exact same way about the seat belt law.
I'll never forget the last time I rode in a car with my step dad in Honolulu many years ago...he was pulled over for not wearing a seat belt. After the officer gave him his ticket, he crumpled it up and threw it at his feet. He told him "I'm 83 years old and I will die before I pay this...I don't believe in wearing a seat belt. The officer's jaw dropped, then he wrote him a ticket for littering, which was five times the amount of not wearing a seat belt in Hawaii. He didn't pay that one either...he died the following year of a heart attack.
