Wiring Rock Lights to Dome Lights- Write Up
So now that I’ve got my rocklights wired to my switch, I got around yesterday evening to tying them into the dome light. I followed the diagram below with a few tweaks since I used a solid state relay in order to not have to use a capacitor.
I wired the following (all terminals are on the SSR):
#1(-) spliced into positive rock light wire
#2(+) to constant positive source w/ in-line fuse
#3(+) spliced into dome light (yellow/white wire @ driver side dash) w/ in-line diode (white stripe towards relay)
#4(-) to ground in engine bay
After trouble shooting, turned out the in-line fuse was blown. But now it’s functioning great, and the SSR keeps the LEDs from fading or flickering with the dome light. I know it’s a short write up but one I had to do a lot of searching to complete.
