Which 2.5 lift to get for a 2017 JKU?

What lift do you all recommend? I was thinking the Game Changer 2.5 with Fox shocks but have read some negative things about the lift kit. This will be my daily driver so I would still like a nice/decent ride?

Welcome to Wayalife. I hear good things about EVO springs. What size tires are you going to run?

JKS makes a nice 2.5" lift. I run the 3.5" lift and have been happy with it.

In general, be sure you don't want to run more than a 35" tire if you're doing 2.5" lift unless you want to end up replacing it.

Honestly I'd first read up on what each component of the lift does. That way you understand a lot better what you're getting and can make sure your getting everything you need/want. After you know that, it comes down to choosing based on your needs and preferences for things like spring rate, shock valving, caster correction method, steering adjustments, etc.

Is it safe to assume you're working with a $3,500 budget and just for the lift kit?

I was thinking the Fox shocks kit was around $2900 are there hidden costs that I should be aware of? I was hoping not to spend more than $3000 on a lift because tires and wheels are going to run around $2000-$2500. Is there a good lift that will run less than $3500?

If I were in your shoes, I would buy a budget boost, trim fenders and have a lot of money left over. With the possibility of just needing some adjustable lowers on the front to correct the caster. Not saying it's not a good kit, but that's a lot of money.

I was thinking of the Teraflex 1.5 leveling kit to start with since I do not like the factory rake. I might just look into the budget boost and continue to research for a quality lift.

If your just starting out you really can't go wrong with a budget boost. The bonus is that you'll keep your current ride quality. Just make sure you get a complete kit.

I'm in the same boat JJ...first lift for a new Jeep. I am blessed that I can spend pretty much what I want but I detest spending money twice because I get impatient.

I would love to see Rhino Girl sitting up a bit higher and her little legs are pretty skinny right now, but I am going to hold off until I spend some more time talking to folks and bouncing that info off experts like we are fortunate to have here. I live in SLC and the Jeep will get out there to live before long. TeraFlex is the home town team and the marketing is brilliant, but thanks to info from folks here (WoL for sure) I already steered away from the factory (TF) hinge. As much as a lift from the home town team sounds great I am reluctant to base that as a decision. We go down to Moab a lot and that 3 ride sounds no fun if she rides like my buddies old CJ and the early XJ on our road trips from San Fran to Chico. The wheeling was fun when we got there, but the drive sure sucked.

We will be down in Moab for EJS for about 10 days and I plan to ask a lot of questions, visit the vendor expo, ask more questions, and then bring my research back here and ask more questions. You guys are going to get tired of me!

As much as I would like her to be be 3 inches taller for EJS, I am going to put my dignity and masculinity on the back burner and take her down stock and use that as my research park so I make the right choice.

The one exception, and chime in here folks if there is ANY value in slapping on a budget boost to get a little room for the light trails we will be doing over EJS (parts of PS and HR and with the kids Fins and Things over and over). Keep in mind she has her factory Rubi tires on there and that's all she will have for EJS.

Anyway it will be fun to go thru the process JJ as we are starting at the same point.

Thanks for all the expert advice on here gang, newbies really appreciate it!

Budget boost like what Teraflex sells $270
Shocks: roughly $320
Wheel spacers: Spydertrax brand $200 roughly
Tires: your choice $1800 roughly
Programmer: your choice $150 ish

For what your asking, what I listed sounds about right. You can sell the budget boost and shocks if/when you decide to go bigger and recoup some money. The budget boost will allow you to clear 35s and will ride the same a it does now. A kit like what Teraflex sells comes with everything you need. The wheel spacers will allow you to run the 35s on the factory wheels and not rub. Go with Spydertrax brand.

Another option if you want to go with a flat fender like you said would be the EVO leveling kit. It is only 2 inch coils for the front and a puck for the rear. It will clear 35s with flat fenders and will give you some support if you go with a bumper and winch sometime. Not that the other route wouldnt.
