Wheels and tires

What size wheels and tires will look good and be functional (no to minimal rubbing) with or without a lift? I really need new tires but also want to do a 3.5-4 inch lift in the future, I'm just not ready yet. Any suggestions or will I just need to wait and do both at once? Thanks as always.
 
30x9.50's is what came stock on most TJ's and 31's is what Rubicon's came with. 4.5" of back spacing is what you'll want on whatever aftermarket wheels you run but you can always run factory wheels with 1" wheel spacers too.
