My damaged lesson learned. Take it from me this item is needed!!

Special thanks goes out to member1983 for helping me get this bad boy on!!

The PS cross member is a great upgrade. We got one on our white JK too. What you do need to be concerned with now though is the frame rail mounting brackets. While the cross member will hold up great, the stress from hits will translate there and will start tearing them. Just keep an eye on them and address them as needed.

Looks like you may have just barely clipped a rock with your old cross member. Not sure why you didn't do a quick 30 second job with a BFH and straighten that little dent out. ;) Either way, the new one looks beefy! Looks like a nice upgrade.

It's hard to tell from these pics since the factory one has been beat to smithereens but what is the difference between the two that makes the PS one beefier? Is it just made of thicker material?

Other question is did all that damage happen in one trip? That's crazy! That's some hard core wheeling!

For the most part, yes, just made out of thicker steel. I would definitely recommend one if you play on the rocks but again, all that beating does take it's toll elsewhere. You do need to keep an eye on your frame rail mounts as they will start tearing.

Would it be a good idea to make some welds

Having helped put this on for blackNblue and seeing how strong it is compared to stock makes me want one now .... Damn it lol

Couldn't use a BFH. It was bent and twisted all over. Yes this happened on one trip.. The difference is the ps thicker steel better welds stock is about 1/16 n the ps is 5/16 huge difference. I'm planing another trip so rauch creek so well c how this one holds up....

Because my long-arm brackets leveraged the cross-member holes, I've been running without a crossmember or exhaust skid. I posted about this previously, but has anyone found a solution for long-arm kits in protecting that section? Thanks!

Once you start seeing cracks, yes. You can try gusseting them up too I suppose.

Like you, I have no skid but run a PS cross member like this. It seems to hold up well so far.
