Welding Question?

I'm getting ready to mig weld the weld nut onto my frame. Is remove the negative cable on the battery is enough to made it safe to weld and not damage the ECU?

Just get a clean metal area close to the weld to ground the welder and removing the neg is plenty.

and by the looks of it that nut is galvanized... so dont sit there and suck the fumes while you are welding

Yes I have put all of the nut through a wire wheel to remove the zinc.

good idea :thumb: you dont want any of those fumes in you system but if for some reason you are feeling sick after i have heard a simple cure is drinking milk

I usually add in something from In and Out burger too. Maybe a double double animal style with that milk. My welds are then guaranteed awesome.

Calcium in the milk will supposedly help prevent the body's absorption of the Zinc. That's in theory but I don't believe it.

I always do multiplication by 2 seems two work.

Well finally finish welding the weld nut. My welding job came out ok but felt good that I did it on my own.
