There are some on Oahu I'm not sure about the other Islands. There's a place called peacock flats that you can off-road and camp at. Best view of the island from up in the mountains.

That's where my school house was, tank mechanics course although there are no tanks in Hawaii.... Looked like there was good wheeling while I was there but we weren't allowed to drive.
