I thought I'd post up a few pics of how to unclog the cowl drain.. Hopefully this can help someone.
First remove the wipers. This small lever/clip need to be pulled up/away from the bar.
The wiper needs to be locked in the upward position before this clip can be pulled.
Remove the 7 small black screws. (So easy, a child could do it)
Two of the screws are accessed from under the hood- you may need to pull the weatherstripping off to get to them.
Yep- lots I dirt and crap completely plugging the drain.. When this drain is plugged, the water rises high enough to get into the vent and leak inside.
I vacuumed what I could first.
It was still plugged, so I used a long rod to gently tap the clog until the water drained..
Next I shot a bunch of water down the drain to make sure it was clear and to help flush anything else out.
Now just reassemble and get the wipers on just right. There are different splines and you need to get the wipers lined up. This only took a couple tries.. Also- remember that the wipers need to be bent up at 90* angle before the clip can be lifted and the wiper removed from the shaft.
