Valley of the Moon and Border Fence

Went out to an area about an hour east of San Diego this morning called Valley of the Moon to show a relative a little offroading. It's nothing crazy but has beautiful views and cool rock formations and was the perfect trail to take him on. After the trail we ran along the border fence for a little bit and then headed home. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Working our way up we stopped to look back towards the freeway

The road was a little washed out in a few areas from the recent rains we've gotten

Few more caves we saw at the top. The first one went in a long ways but I didn't have my flashlight to go into it

Sweet. I would love to run trails like these. One day I'll get out of flat ass South Florida. Till then I'll enjoy following everyone here. :thumb:

I hope you were watching for the coyotes and drug runners! You were probably pissing off the border patrol by setting off the motion sensors! Looks pretty cool though!

Those are some really nice looking trails. As much as I love my home state and the trails it offers I still love to look at the cool trails from other states. I'll likely never make it out there but I hope to get that chance someday. In the meantime thanks for the pix. Looks like a great time

LOL! There was nobody out there until we came back down the mountain. Saw a UTV and then a group of 4 jeeps/land cruisers after that we saw two border patrol agents hauling ass up. One said hi the other just went up. When we got down to the bottom one stopped us and looked in the jeep. Said they get a lot of dope in the area (as if I didn't already know that). Also saw a BP helicopter circling to the left of where we were wheeling. Didn't see anyone along the fence though.

So did you pick up my uncle after all? Or did the BP find him hiding in your trunk?

Looks like a fun day trip. I wish Iowa had places to explore.

Everywhere has places to explore, just gotta get out and do it!!! Ive followed random dirt roads, quad trails and old farm paths for hundreds of miles in Pennsylvania, just to see where they go.

I was referring to trails to explore on, not gravel roads. We have a lot of gravel roads.

Nice photos! I went out there with the Wayoflife family a few years ago. We also ran into a Border Patrol Officer.
