Unfinished business

Keeping avatar with no bumper until I receive in full my order placed late Feb. Actually did get the bumper and it is on, though a washer was the wrong size, box was ripped open and retaped, yet this the off road site blamed on the manufacturer, and the manufacturer blamed wholeheartedly on Fed Ex, adding that this is when the missing rubber fog light grommets must have fallen out of the box! (Yes, they immediately sent some out to me), then while installing three of the bolt tips cracked right off leaving barely enough room for the nut! (was not torking crooked!) Managed to work the fog lights on even though had to go about it, let's just say, a little differently than the directions said. Anyway the bumper is on and looks fine, but I am waiting still for the aux bar, part of the original order which was said, via chat prior to placing order, to be In Stock!, then declared BO'd and promised by March 21st. Maybe I should have ordered a winch at that time as well, I likely could have afforded it by the time it would arrive... lol, sounds like griping, but I'm just telling the story as is!

That's terrible.
Are you purposely leaving out the name of the Manufacturer and Retail Outlet you purchased the bumper from?

My experience - bumpers are quite heavy and cardboard hardly does a sufficient job of containing something hard to contain. I'm glad the Retail Outlet has helped make things right - maybe it's time to put it on and be proud of all that has come about.

IMHO. I would mention the company. Let others know your experience as well as the lack of instructions. I feel would definitely help other members when researching such products including customer service as well.

Agreed, it may prevent someone else from having the same experience. When I recieved my front bumper it was in a thick cardboard box that was shot with foam inside. It took me a half hour to get to the bumper. Really great packaging IMO!

when i received my OR-Fab carrier from amazon i received it the same way. thick box and covered, i mean COVERED in the expanding foam.

Both my ACE rails and AEV rear were packed with expanding foam. No damage to either in shipping.

from what I remember my evo bumper was wrapped in some foam and then a ton of green packing peanuts that I still find around the house, box was beat up and the bumper had some chipped powder, but didn't bother me. Also learned what happens when you push a heavy bumper box down the steps in your living room....yeah ripped the carpet lol.

That's for sure! I can tell you for a fact that LoD packages their stuff better than anything else I have received! The package their sliders in a specially designed wooden shipping crate and bolt it down inside of the crate. It took tools just to unpackage it.

I've had my EVO 1/4 pounder on for a year and I still find packing chips making their way out of my stinger :what::screwy: lol.

Sent from my SM-N900V using WAYALIFE mobile app

I forgot about that. When I got my EVO rear bumper, the kids were loving all the packing peanuts! They 'unpacked' it for me! :thumb:

Well joy! Received by aux bar today! Or so I thought... I paid $69 for a bar via an off road site, the manufacturer lists it at $89, they sent me one for $179! The problem is, I hate it. It comes up high at 18 inches, the one I wanted came up only 13 inches. Big difference. Also this is more squared off. I scourged the manufacturer's website and discovered that they offered a med rise post (shown in the photo image) and list it as a certain code number, but then when it lists the color #codes, it switches over to the exact ones that the high rise are! So I can't blame the go between site, they wouldn't have even caught this! Now, I am hoping they will receive this back with no return shipping fee, and send me the proper part. They will be saving money, as this one is double the cost!

CRAZY! Bumps in the road.....
