I just watched this this morning and saw that Mel Wade was apart of the adventure. I was just curious as to why he was driving a Chevy truck instead of EVO1.
 
There was a link posted up a while back, can't remember where, or you can search it on you tube that's where the vids are posted.
 
Mel loves all things offroad and he just sold the Truck you are referring to. He has had that for a while and used it as a chase vehicle in the Baja races in Mexico. I went to the shop 3 years ago with my old JK to get some input and ideas for used axles when I was considering an axle swap vs buying aftermarket and he immediately took me out under a powerwagon and crawled under one with me showing the mods needed to run tone rings and showing me the problems with running a front D60 from a new Ford due to the casting of the knuckles.

So long story short, he drives and appreciates everything and the Ultimate Adventure is a trip of all types of 4x4s not just jeeps. :yup:
 
Read the article in a 4 Wheel magazine, but can't remember which one. I think it was Petersons.

He also broke 2 drivelines on that trip according to the magazine.
