Caught the Bug
Need to stay home this weekend so I decided to put in my Tuffy Security Deck.

Cell pics.

Now I just have to chance down that rear end squeak (of the Jeep that is)!!

Nice job! How long did it take to install? :thumb: The Tuffy is on my short list as well. Tony...

Thanks! I think it's going to be a nice addition.

I will say I'm not a fan of the exposed hardware on the sides though. I think it is different for the 2011+ interior. I'll look for a solution to that soon.

Tony: install is a breeze. 20-30 minutes or so. Not sure for the previous model (I see you have a 2009), but I assume it's similar. Turfy has the install directions on its webpage.

One of the reasons I wanted this was to be able to keep some tools with me at all times. Sharkey had a sweet set that we took to Moab and I found a similar (although not as complete) set at Costco today for ~$60.

It doesn't have everything I need but it's a good start, comes with a case, and will keep me from taking my home tools out of my tool box and losing them.

I have the same one. It covers all the sizes except for the 21 mm

I like the security deck...and also the tool kit. I've been loyal to Craftsman, but the black & gold is nice :)

It would help if someone posted pics of an install on a non subwoofer jk. Showing exactly what is to be done could really help.

On the right side (passenger) I installed a 1/4-20 rivnut instead of using that little rubber price on the cargo floor where the sub bolts down. Also when you don't have a subwoofer the metal piece closest to the door just dangles there with no way to secure it. It usually gets held by the sub. I drilled a hole through it and the body. I put a spacer between the metal and the body and ran I nut and bolt to add some strength. I was also thinking about putting rivnuts by the roll cage to get rid of the other two rubber nuts. But it was getting late.

I think we may have different versions. They were different from 07-10 and 11+.

You know, you are correct. I have an 08 and I see you have a 2011. Thanks for offering to some info when i was questioning the install. The install was a breaze. I just thought I would secure the unit just a bit more. Hoping to try it out topless this weekend.

Update. My son said he had the sub and wasn't using it and I could have it. I removed the two screws in the pictures above and installed the sub. Much better.

I just ordered my security deck and concealed carry locker last week. The driver side locker just shipped out but sadly the secuyrity deck will be on back order for another four weeks.

Do you have to modify anything to install the lockbox or did they finally make one to fit the 2012 2-door???

The site says up to current four door which is what I fall under, the description says it will only fit up to 2010 two doors. When I get home next month and have a chance to set it up I will take it to my brother in laws dealership and see if it looks like it could fit in a two door.
