Trailer Recommendations

Reaper JKU

Happy New Year everyone.

I wanted to get everyone’ recommendations from those who use their Jeep JK’s or JKU’s for towing. I have a ‘18 JKU and looking for an enclosed cargo trailer option. I have a 3” lift going on “Reaper” in the spring but I know I can get an adapter hitch. I am unaware of the 3500lbs. GWVR but appreciate feedback. Thanks.

Not sure exactly what the question is but I used to tow my 18’ Jay Flight camper with my JKU on 38’s, 4” lift and 5.13 gears. Think the gross weight of the trailer was 2,600lbs. Just make sure the trailer has electric brakes to assist. So yes you can tow with it, just don’t plan on getting to your destination quickly.

The real question is, I wanted to get a recommendation for trailers. The Jeep can tow a max of 3500lbs I’ve read (Jeep, trailer, occupants, load) so I am looking for the best option, and size to accommodate this. Ideally the largest trailer I could tow and have fully loaded and still have control of.

I didn’t think of the electric brakes, thanks @Disciple Off Road

A small enclosed trailer (5x8) will only hold like 2000 pounds and the trailer will be 1000. You are carrying much in that. Next step up in trailer weight will hold more but weighs more so you could haul less. A truck is a better option.
