I can't agree with this more! I lifted my 35 inch spare & wheel on to the factory tire carrier yesterday and felt like I had just fought BJ Penn for 3 rounds and lost.
If I had to lift it any higher than the about the factory carrier, id throw it in the rear and say screw mounting it.

I would back it up to a loading ramp and do it but I just want a good tire carrier mounted spare

Good thing there are loading ramps out on the trail just in case you ever get a flat. :thumb:

If you're not stuck on getting an angled tire carrier, I'd give LoD a look, very well built IMO!

If you're only going to be running 35s the stock carrier works just fine when you properly isolate the spare by extending the isolators.
