Strip paint off wheels?

My ATX Ravines currently have their ring painted black. Thinking of stripping off paint and polishing so it looks more like a legit beadlock rather than a simulated one.

1) Opinions on the look?
2) Suggestions on removing paint?

I think it would look good personally, maybe a powder coat place could remove the paint. I had mine burnished at a powder coater and he said it seals the pores in the aluminum so it won't corrode as easily. They do wipe right off so far

Maybe a powdercoat shop could sandblast them and then you could polish them from there ?

You could just sand them to rough and then rattle can them with whatever color you desire

Does the ring actually come off? If so have it bead blasted. If you want to know what bead blasted AL looks like I can take a pic at work tomorrow. If it does t come off... well that's a lot of elbow grease.

What did you end up doing? I think a light bronze ring would look great on the color combo.

Haven't done anything with it yet lots of other projects higher on the priority list.

It is better to clean out the sand and then do the polish work.
