Hi again,
will try to show a little bit the story of my Jeep and maybe some difficulties we have overhere in Germany in getting parts or legalize some builds.
The decision towards a JK came as we are always short on space and i had to bring together 2 Jeeps, one to go offroading and another to make some longer tours in Europe/ North Africa.
I had a nice CJ with some 33s, locker and some more goodies, to make the tours i used a WH with CRD motor with some small changes.
Then one day i got an offer about a JK unlimited which had a light Accident and that is how the story starts :hmm:
These are the first pic's
Not much to see, Driver door, front wing and most of the damage is hidden below the Jeep.
Here is a picture to find one of the Problems
The son told me that he has not seen a tree trunk, the Father told my that a bridge had been a bit narrow.
Well both could have been the 2nd problem, the first was too much of what ever. :stick hiting:
The price was ok, so i took the risk and towed it to its new home, it fits into the Garage
Then i unmounted the control Arms and look at the difference to new ones
Changed all the front control arms, steering box and some small things. Now waiting for my new Bilsteins to finish first Step.
Then i will get it to a shop for an alignment, this is my biggest concern that there will be big problems like a bent frame or axle showing up.
What i did waiting for parts, i cleaned it a little bit with taking of the rails and flares
As it is difficult to get these plastic clips i decided to change it to bolted flares by using rivet nut (hope that's the correct name) in the holes of the clips
A bit rusty at the frame, will take of that later
the rivet in place front side
Nice to see how it worked
What also astonished me was the amount of stuff coming out of my rock rails
That's all for the beginning, got longer that i wanted.
Will keep you updated as work progresses
Wish you a nice day
