Steering wheel whine

My steering wheel is driving me nuts. It developed a whine right at the seam between the fixed portion of trim and the rotating portion of the steering wheel. I’ve read that there is a vinyl seal in there that can dry out. Is there a good remedy for this or is something bigger going on with the clock spring? Now with the hard top on, I have to do something about it.

When turning? Did you get the clockspring warranty replacement yet?
