Starting noise

When I turn on my tj I hear a rattling noise then it goes away after 2 seconds, anyone know what it could be?

It can be your valves. Do you have enough oil? Is your oil new?

4.0L problems that aren't problems.

Mine does that at every start up. 185,000 miles. The actual issue is that the valve cover is extremely thin and does nothing to quiet the valve train noise.

Really nothing to worry about unless it sounds like a cop knocking at your door.

Yes my oil is great I changed it 500 miles ago and synthetic blend.

It really is not an issue. It involves the type of lifters it has. It will not cause any issues with reliability. If it bugs you that much you could do the following: Roller rockers and there's a thicker aluminum valve cover out there. Quadratec has them.
