Spacer Question,

I have a question about spacers. But first let me say this. I have a stock 2008 JKU. With a P255/75r17/1132(Basically size 32). I am looking to go to a size 33 Duratrac. Now if I keep my shock rims I will have to go to LT285/70R17. Also I am getting a 2.5” Lift as well. So with this upgrade in bigger tires I will need spacers. I have heard the bad and things about spacers and I have heard some alright things with spacers. I do plan on taken my jeep offroad. But nothing to heavy, not rock crawling, just some light stuff. So here are my question

1. In your opinion, what are the best spacer to get
2. With spacer, Can I go offroad (example, if I where to go to rausch creek, PA. and stay on the green zone).
3. Is anybody using spacers and what are your opinions?

The reason why I am bring this up is because I have come across a good deal with tires. I don’t really want to pass it up.

My husband and I have spacers on both our 13' Jeep Rubi's. We both have the 2.5 Teraflex lift with 35" Duratracs and my husband has the rough country spacers & i have the wheel pros spacers..In our opinion and what we have been told from people who do builds is that the rough countrys and wheel pros are the exact same thing as the spider trax except for the different color. Spider trax is the most popular one that people use on their jeeps but youll pay a little bit more with those than you would with rough country. We havent had problems with neither jeep. We have been offroading in almost everything except for large rocks, only because we dont wont to jack up our jeeps lol... I hope that helps you some.

1. Spidertrax. It's what I have run on most of my Jeeps at one point and time and they have proven themselves to work well.
2. Absolutely and I would play as hard as you want with them. A high quality spacer that bolts up to the axle and then your wheels to it will behave no differently than a new wheel with less back spacing.
3. Not at the moment but, I have and would still run spacers if needed.

The FAQ link that Docknocker posted up has good info regarding questions like this too :yup:

I run the spidertrax 1.75' spacers front and rear with my stock wheels and 35'' trail grapplers. I have 2.5' of lift and the setup works great. Wil careful driving you'll get through bunch of the black trails at rausch creek just fine. :yup:

I had my oil changed at a local express oil. They do all services and also rotate vehicles with spacers as well. I was surprised. Only high quality spacers like Eddie said as well.
