SoCal mechanics for MODs

I live in San Diego, looking for a good place to take my 2014 Rubicon for MOD work. Right now, looking to replace center console with a security console and some LOD rockers.

Any recommendations on the shop, console or other rockers would be greatly appreciated!

For something like that, I would seriously consider doing the work yourself. I'm sure you could even get a few members of the forum to help you out too. If that won't work for whatever reasons you may have, there are several ORW and 4wheelparts shops in your neck of the woods. I personally would prefer not to use them but, they are what you have available close by.

Yeah, never really done much work on cars/trucks and given I live in an apartment complex with limit space, I'd have to take it somewhere they have the space to work and have tools. I'd be willing to work with forum members and pay for their time if that's an option.

I'm still ticked at 4 Wheel for not price matching my spots or even taking the diff off the labor, LOL maybe I shouldn't hold the grudge over $60.

Well, I might recommend that you ask around here to see if anyone can help you out. If I still lived in the area, I would have offered up my place. Also, if I recall, there's a place in Escondido where you can rent time at a DIY garage. From what I understand, the price is very reasonable and they even have tools. Something like a center console replacement is time consuming but not too difficult. Otherwise, you might want to give ORW a try.

I have a buddy who owns a shop in Santee that builds EVERYTHING.
LMK is this is cool to share.
(Eddie hope this is OK, he is "better" than a 4WP HA!))

Oh yeah, it's cool. I don't know of too many places in the SD area so your recommendation would be better than mine.

Thanks!!
So the name of the shop is Chappelle's Exhuast and Custom.
The owner is David.

The guy is great.
But honestly, these installs (even in an apartment, unless rules on it) are pretty straight forward.

The Jeep Shack is a place to check out. Travis is the owner/operator. He is doing a complete transformation on my jeep right now. He's in San Diego. It's a smaller place but does great work and won't break your bank.

He is a dumbass. Your jeep will probably be fucked up when it comes back.

OP do NOT go to that place. That guy is not good.

Isn't he the jackhole that jacked up several jeeps and took money for axle builds but never delivered? Not to mention his crappy welds!

Yes that's him. He went by the name brut4ce before but after he fucked up to many jeeps he had to change names.

I know of at least two members here who he aphas ripped off. One is sick_jk (TheDuff can fill in the story) that he ripped off with an axle build and the other is someone in Fresno that he sold his old jeep to. Said he was going to do all this stuff and never did. Even took parts off after money was exchanged. That guy is spending a lot now to fix that piece of shit jeep.

He was even a sponsor on JKF but was taken off after he screwed too many people over.

Sounds like a class act to me.

That's what I thought. Cajun I really hope it's not too late for you. That dude is a scam artist who doesn't know what he's doing.

Hey guys,
A guy at El Cajon orw named Jared is a very reliable guy he is very straight up if nothing else pans out.

Thanks for the info, yeah I had some spots put on at 4w when I got the jeep last year. "Price match" wouldn't be honored followed with BS reason. I said that's cool, if you won't price match the part just take it off the labor. "We can't do that" sure you can you just won't.

I have some good leads, appreciate any more if you have them!

Oh, it'll be a transformation alright....

LOL! That's funny about the Brut4ce guy he's actually the one who bought my bent factory axle housing from me. I told him it was bent and he said that was fine it was only going on a jeep temporarily while he was building a set of one tons.
