Hooked
So I’ve had the Jeep for about a year and have been on Wayalife for about the same. I’ve seen some impressive builds and have gained a lot of great information from everyone here. Eddie’s Pippi project has inspired me to share my small build. Her name is Tortuga because she’s green, slow and if she ends up on her lid, it’ll be a bad day.
To start, she’s a 2013 JK Sport with a 6 speed transmission. I rolled off the lot with 4 small road tires on Rubi wheels and 1 16” booboo wheel on the back. I immediately took my family to the beach with that setup and it was great!
the next thing I did was bought a replacement top with tinted windows, rubicon rails and a fifth Rubi wheel & 5 Toyo AT/IIs.
Following that I added Fishbone stubby bumper and rear valance with a Warn Evo 8 (didn’t find out about Fishbone until after I bought it). Next came the JKS 2.5” lift with JKS quick discos. Finally, I replaced the 33” Toyos with 35” BFG KM3s.
Throughout this first year I’ve taken her to Marble Falls, TX 3 times, Bridgeport, TX once for some crawling and made an amazing trip out to Big Bend National Park for some great trails and camping.
Thank you again for all the info I’ve gathered from here to help me on my journey and I hope to have more posts as this thing continues to evolve.
