Since you are in the So Cal area Off Road Evolution, located in Fullerton, CA, Forum Sponsor and owned my Mel Wade founder of EVO, is where I would take it. Give Off Road Evolution a call and see if they will install thier parts purchased from another merchant.

x2. OP i know you were looking for a place other than ORE but i would suggest going there just like Canvas said. otherwise im no help since im on the wrong coast.

Not to be a naysayer, but I did the same "upgrades" to my D44 a little over a year ago. I wish I wouldn't have done the sleeves. In reality, I think it weakened my housing! I would do the others but save up for the ProRock44.... Just my humble opinion.

Not much point in the sleeves. Either way, I can't imagine NOT using ORE for the install if I lived down in the area.

So, Did I waste money buying the sleeves? Will the process of installing them make the housing weaker? I guess I drank the ORE Koolaid.....

I've never seen anyone say the sleeves will make the OEM tubes weaker. The point is that they won't prevent a bend where the OEM tubes enter the pumpkin. Over time, you will still bend at that point running bigger tires (especially if you drive fast in the desert.)

Sleeves should help prevent a torsional break of the OEM tubes but, to be honest, that kind of break rarely happens. (In my years on JK related forums, I think I've heard of maybe three). I would venture to say that a torsional break is probably the result of cross-caster (which is stupid to do) or bad metal but I'm sure Eddie can confirm because I know he has personally seen at least one torsional break.

Thanks for the reply, I am just going to do it for additional piece of mind. My offroading is now mainly for hunting and maybe exploring the deserts here in SoCal. Who knows, maybe when I retire we can travel and explore other states. I tend to buy into the fears that forums provide and as a Jeep service manager I have seen plenty of bent housings but usually accident related. You never get the full story. I have even warrantied bent housings if the customer was upfront about how it happened and I asked Chrysler for Goodwill assistance. I'd rather be on the safe side. Thanks again, John

Update .. ORE called and said it was done so I picked it up. Same day service and the welds are beautiful. Excellent job Drew.......

Very shortly after I discovered Wayalife I purchased the same things and went to a friends shop to install them. I remember like it was yesterday thinking after we put the sleeves in up to flush with the "c" end why the sleeve didn't go further into where the tube went into the diff. Then after reading everyone's thoughts on the sleeves I thought I had probably just wasted my time and $. I'm sure it didn't weaken the axle, probably didn't make it better though.
