Only three things we do...

There are three things we do at Land Ops;

1.) off road navigation & vehicle recovery.
2.) navigation and orienteering
3.) radio & signal communications

Enjoy!

Cool! Looks like a lot of fun! :rock:

I need to figure out some sort of GPS system for my jeep. That map site you linked looks nice.

Sounds interesting! Are HAM radios required to participate?

1/3 of the participants are licensed HAMS. the other use FRS. There are a few CB radio owners.
For longer distant comms the HAMS on your team will step up to the plate. It's a pretty cool mix. I am somewhat amazed at the
diversity of the participants.

Most people use handheld Garmins and Magellans. The teams leaders use iPads and Tablets with mapping software
for situational awareness. I'm hoping to advance to Lowrance myself someday. Bring what you've got. We team up
in groups of 5-8 vehicles per team typical. So someone always has navigation covered.
