Not That Kind of Engineer
Lot of people ask what shocks to get, what lengths. Hopefully this will help find the answers you're looking for.
Also may help with bump stop selection. Bump stops do a lot of work and are often overlooked or not understood. They do 3 things.
1. Protect your coils from going solid. Quick way to ruin a coil.
This is bad.

2. Keeps your shocks safe. A factory jeep has 15" eye to eye at full bump. That's why a factory shock is around 14.75". Extra ¼" buffer to protect them from bottoming out. You cannot add longer shocks to a factory jeep without adding bump stops.
3. Keeps tires off fenders and sheet metal. Larger tires with factory flares requires extra attention here.
Going with flat or trimming factory fenders adds around 3" of extra clearance.
*Please add additional information about shocks if you have it. I'll be adding more as the days go by.
