Shifter question

Good Morning,

After nearly 8 years I am finally having a problem with my 6 speed popping out of first gear. At first it was not that often but now it is happening multiple times a day in normal driving. My question is, on Quadratec I seem to have 2 options for putting in a sport shifter. The B&M & Lynx. Is the B&M worth the extra $200?

Going to be doing the swap in a couple weeks and would like opinions.

Thx

I don’t know much about the Lynx shifter, however I’ve been using the B&M shifter tower and shift lever. For the last three years, it’s performed and held up well. No popping out of gear.

If you don’t want to get the tower and lever at the same time, get the lever. The factory shift lever is spongy and will make shifting feel vague regardless what tower you get.

I like the B&M tower because it shortens the shift throw. In my opinion, the B&M tower & lever is worth every dollar I paid for it.

The reason your trans is popping out of gear is the spongy rubber isolator used in the factory shift lever. It’s also why shifting feels vague. The lever over travels when shifting, hits the center console and stops the trans from fully engaging the selected gear.
