Shifter boot torn?

Anyone have the their shifter boot/slide tear? Or know what it is actually called and if it can be replaced?

It gets hung up when I’m trying to manually shift and just generally looks like [emoji90]

It’s been this way for a while and starting to get annoying. It actually will prevent me from shifting to lower gears sometimes

Just take that shifter console cover off and then you can access that slot from below and either fix it or replace whatever needs to be replaced. It’s just a cosmetic piece to cover the slot and keep stuff from falling into it.

I don’t remember because I replaced my center console with a Tuffy years ago. The directions can be found at the link below. The first few steps talk about how to remove the stock console. I’d think you could follow those, fix your issue, and reinstall.
