Scrambled build thread

Caught the Bug
I posted this in my return Jeep Wave thread. Right now, I’ll be going through fluids, looking for leaks, and getting her ready to move under her own power. Basically, because Scrambled has sat for a long time, I’ll likely throw some parts at her until I can get to a place to do a build.
For the time being, some body and frame work is on the agenda, with an eye towards coil sprung junkyard Super Duty axles, 37” tires, lightening up the weight on top while seeing unsprung weight down low, to keep a low COG build, if that makes sense. Boxing the frame is something I’m leaning towards. And, with so many possibilities… who knows if I change my mind?

if I get to engine swaps, I’m looking at the Cummins R2.8 or some other TDI engine. If that happens, swapping out the auto transmission for a manual, and getting a different transfer case will be on the agenda. This stuff will be a ways down the line.

One thing about this build is I expect it to be slow. It’s still not at my house, and if I do get it here, I have to find a place to work on it (I live in the inner city and don’t have a garage)

So, first assessment of the body…

East Coast salt did wonders with the body modifications. The front is relatively intact, but the body in the rear needs a lot of work. So, I’m pricing out replacement parts, or a whole tub, and figuring it out.
I’m still surprised at how the frame wasn’t damaged more, seeing at how badly the tub is rotted.
