Rubicon Express High Steer Kit - JK Unlimited

To set the stage on my installation, I am working on a 2010 Wrangler Unlimited Sport. I previously installed a complete Rubicon Express RE7143 3.5" lift, RE Sway bar disconnects, and RE upgraded track bar. I also have Synergy PPM-8002 JK Tie Rod. My goal was to install the new Rubicon Express RE2621 High Steer kit which is design to help correct steering miss-alignments as well as upgrade my previously bent drag link. It is designed to work for lifts of 3.5" and higher. The design for this kit is really sweet and the bracket connects to, and strengthens, the steering linkage points in with the upper control arm mount on the steering side. Once everything came in, I held things in place and had some concerns. I sent RE a note inquiring if the kit would work with my other components. The response back from them was..."it should bolt right up". Well, not exactly. The RE track bar is too long and will not allow the axle to be re-centered. To correct his problem I had to get the track bar back to its original location. To do this, because of the design of the RE bracket, you have to cut away the material on the original track bar mounting position, around outer hole so the track bar would slide back to its original position. This allows the track bar to be re-mounted back to it's original position. I do not know if these adjustments are required with stock equipment. I sent a note back to RE inquiring if I am setting myself up for further issues. They admitted that the RE track bar is too long and they were working to make one shorter. However, they did like my adjustment to correct their original flaw. Again, this set up is really nice. It is marginal for lifts of 3.5" as advertised, but would probably work well with 4" and higher lifts. I like the final product and the alignment and driving is nice. The axle is still about 1/8" off center, but it drives very nicely. I will address this later when I put the stabilizer on. I found a problem with mine, like it has an air bubble in it, so I ordered a new one. I certainly am no expert, so any advise is greatly appreciated.

The RE flip kit is designed to be used with the stock track bar is it not? That's kinda the point of the flip kit/track bar relocation deal-it reuses the stock track bar. Mine does, and it's the same RE flip kit you got.

RE High Steer

Knowing what I know now, I believe you are right. Although I was surprised RE really didn't give my original message much attention to what I was actually asking and just responded the way they did. Since I changed the track bar when I did the lift, I didn't experience the same issues others might have by not changing the track bar. The only reason I went after this kit was because my drag link was bent slightly and I figured since the steering geometry was off slightly, I might as well work to improve it. I had been driving after the lift for close to a year both on and off road. I like the kit though. And it will work with other upgrades.

@Jeep10 (Or anyone else with knowledge of the RubiconExpress high steer kit) I'm installing the RE high steer kit right now (Luckily with the OE track bar) and can't find good pictures anywhere. The instructions mention using a spacer but isn't really specific since there seem to be three spacers (and what looks like a bushing) in the box... I'd love to provide measurements but left all of the parts (and jeep on a lift) in a friend's garage for the night, but I'd say One is about 1/8" another about 1/4" and the third is about 1&1/8". Could you please tell me where these should be placed? I could really benefit from a picture looking into the bracket from the axle's perspective. There are nearly no pictures of this install (beside yours) out there.

Any assistance is appreciated.
