Hooked
So my wife and I decided we would take a road trip from the CA Bay Area down to Earp, CA to watch the Super Bowl with my grandparents. Saw this cool off grid bar in one of Eddies posts awhile back and thought it would be cool to stop in for lunch and a drink before getting to our destination. Don't know the official name of the trail, just heard it referred to as "the back way" although you do eventually follow signs for the Grey Eagle Mine trail. The trail was pretty easy which was cool since this was just a quick detour for us and we weren't planning to air down or anything. There's a vast amount of space and trails to be explored out in this area so I think we'll have to come back to play sometime.
Gonna be awhile before I ever see all 1's on the odometer again
Whole lotta desert on the horizon in front of us.
And behind us.
Shoulda planned our pit stops better. This hurt a little
Finally outta CA!
Have to put a Jeep shot in.
Made it to the bar. There's a lot of cool old stuff out here, just didn't take a lot of pictures while I was quenching my thirst. Had a good pulled pork sandwich here too.
The Desert Bar or Nellie E Saloon
So it was just a quick detour but a cool place and definitely something different. It was nice to get off the pavement for a little while and take in some of what the desert has to offer.
