Been looking to build/buy a storage system for all the tools and things that I bring with me to go on the trail. Need some inspiration. So let's show off some pictures!

Interested in this as well. I've looked into some of the Molle pack options, ARB shelves, etc.

Also recently saw these Trek Armor bags, http://www.trekarmor.com/searchresults.asp?cat=1822 or something similar (cheaper) to have the option of easily removing tools, parts and kits that I don't need to haul around the 90% of the time I'm not on the trail.

Interested to see what others have come up with.

I have the smittybilt gear tailgate organizer. Looks good, works good, and inexpensive. I can post pics later if anybody is interested.

Take a look at the MPAC rack from Springtail Solutions. I ran one in my '09 and liked it very much. The only downside though is that people can certainly help themselves to your stuff when your top is off. I grew tired of having to thread the MOLLE packs for a run and then unthread them for everyday city travel.

Next go around I will either get an ARB locking drawer (pricey!) or go with a Tuffy Security Deck.

They also have one that fits between the rollbars.

Have you seen the speedclips? I have seen these but never used them. Threading molle can be a PITA but if you don't have to swap them often it's not that big a deal. These may make swapping easier though.

Those do look cool. After I bought my system, Springtail came up with molle hook and loop "pads" that the bags attached to. I've never seen them in person though so I don't know how strong they are.

I do like the idea of bags. But I've seen some really nice drawer systems made out of 4x4s and sliding drawers. Was wondering if someone had anything similar to that.

I couldn't find anything I liked so I built my own. Down firing 10'' sub on the left and locking storage for tools on the right.

I think I carry more tool then what I have seen you guys carry so far on here. I use small to medium tool bags to carry my tools so they won't be to heavy. I keep them all in one place in a cabinet in the garage so they are handy . Socket sets in one bag, wrenches in another, screw drivers and etc. in another , and so on.

I was just talking about day to day necessities. On real runs I certainly pack a box with a lot more stuff.

I use Blackhawk speed clips on my rig. never had a failure, I reconfigure the set up more often than I need to (gear whore).. saves your fingers from the pain of threading in mole straps.

This is how I pack everything up. Lower storage boxes carry tools (rt) and spare parts, fluids, belts, stuff (lf). Top storage boxes carry other camping related equipment and lighter stuff. Still have room for chairs/water/shower...

This has worked well for longer camping trips (Rubicon). Otherwise I leave the top storage boxes at home.

Of course, I gotta have my table :)
