Reprogramming and calibrating...

So my father in law has this snap on computer that can check codes and do diagnostics on almost any kind of car. I was wondering if there is anyone familiar with using a computer like this to reprogram my jeeps shift points speedometer and change the programming to a bigger tire just like the superchip does. Or am I better off getting a superchip to reprogram? Thanks would love to here your feedback.

Better off getting a Superchip or the AEV procal. I'm pretty sure that scanner can't change tire size programming or other things the Superchip or Procal can do.

Ok thank you yeah I was kinda thinking it's better to do the superchip also.
