Rattling hardtop latch - 2008 JKU

New to the site, and did a quick search to see if I could find anything about this without any luck.

I've got a 2008 4 door JK and the front latch (passenger side) of the hard top (that secures ithe top on the windshield assembly side) doesn't "snap" securely in place. The unit does lock the top down - tight as a drum - but the handle rattles loose. Is this something that can be fixed, or does the assembly need replaced? If so, any idea how much the latch would run?

Did you try a piece of rubber hose on the loop? Try that first and see if it gives enough resistance. Not sure it will work but worth a shot especially at what .01 :)
 
Had the same problem, Lost the rubber pad that goes onto the latch itself, look at the other one and you'll see the part that's missing.
 
Compared them both and didn't see any difference, the drivers side is just a little more snug. Should be home soon and am gonna try some brake line on it and see it that does the trick.
