Let me start by saying I don’t overland or camp. I do a lot traveling across the country to various trail and rock crawling destinations.
And here’s my problem that I’m hoping someone can help me with.
I have various 12v refrigerators I carry depending on the trip.
The fridges run off the 12v in the Jeep while running and then I have to take the fridge out at night and put it in whatever house we are staying in. My new ARB Zero fridge is a heavy bitch and I want to leave it in the Jeep.
I am wanting to add a lithium iron phosphate battery such as one from Renogy or Battle Born to run the fridge when my Jeep is off and not worry about running down my main battery. My question is what’s the best charge controller to use? I see Redarc and Renogy talked about a lot. What have have you guys done?
