Question about pitman arm/ draglink

So my question is how far is the drag link sleeve supposed to be adjusted? I feel like mine might be adjusted way to far out but my steering wheel is still centered and where should the pitman arm sit in relation to the center line of the jeep? Mine seems like it points slightly to the drivers side. Being that I have an aftermarket drop arm it doesn’t have the curve in it like the stock one does. Here’s a pic for reference

Looking at your picture, your drag link looks flipped and your track bar looks raised so you need to put your stock pitman arm back on

Yes, yes and I plan on going back to the stock arm soon. But how do I know if the drag link adjuster sleeve is adjusted out too far?

Not sure if you can see into the slot on the sleeve, but you can at least see how many threads are out of it

That was I was thinking too. Just trying to see if anyone knows a rough estimate of how much should be in or out.

I don't have a stock one to compare it to, but I will say that the clamps need to be rotated up so that they squeeze the collar closed instead of just applying pressure on it like they are now.

Did you install the dropped pitman arm? I know the TJ ones are indexed but if the JK isn’t you could turn it back a couple splines. I never looked quite honestly at the stock one

It is. IIRC it's keyed four ways, so you can still install it wrong, but you can't move it over by a couple of splines.

No the shop that installed the lift did. I haven’t anything off unless I was replacing it. (Drag link, tie rod, etc.)

The seam in the sleeve should be going through the opening in the clamps so it pinches it shut when you tighten the bolts

And I assume as long as the threads in the sleeve go past the clamps a bit you should be good but I’m not a mechanic

Yea I figured as long as the clamps are clamping onto something then it should be good. Just don’t know if having that many threads out affects steering feel or alignment.

Center the steering wheel and count how many revolutions you have to the left and to the the right. If they're equal, you should be very close to centered. If you have more revolutions to one side than the other, your drag link is not adjusted properly

That seems like a lot of threads to me too. Is your axle centered?
