Progrips pad life

I just started hearing my breaks squeal like the pads are low, I installed this kit in February at 99500 miles. Jeep is now at 109k, do these pads wear out this fast?

10k miles is kinda low on the life of break pads isn't it?

Eh. Some depends on how heavy your rig is. Driving style. Hills. How many freeway off ramps your dealing with etc. I am on my second set and I got a little over 30k out of my first set. Lots of factors when it comes to brake pad wear. You could ask 20 different people and get 10 different answers

I guess it is what it is, just found it a bit low but you are right considering it's a heavy rig.

I’ve replaced my pads twice now. I got about 25k out of each set. I will be going with ceramic pads next change due to the brake dust from the kit pads.

Being a flatlander not having to deal with too many hills that does sound low. Although with your style of soil, your mud may be really gritty and could help wear a little faster. Still, 10k isn't much.

I've pretty much avoided the mud since I moved from Puerto Rico, and Covid has pretty much shut down my wheeling. Still I will have to check what's going on as even with heavy breaking I find it super low.

I am having the same issue but only have 6,000 miles on them. It started when the temperature dropped and stops when the brakes warm up. I am going to try greasing the plate and guide clips and see if that helps.

Way too low. You do a visual inspection on them or are they just squeaking. If so Your brakes are dragging.

Turns out one of the rear calipers was sticking, since these were replaced in February, I was able to warranty replace it. New rear pads and we are good as new

I get about 15,000 per set. Going on my third set for the rear and will probably replace the rotors back there when I do it. Two sets of rears for ever set of fronts.

Some of these mileages being reported are making me thankful to not have gone with these. My jeep isn’t super heavy but not light by any means and with my 37s I’ve never once felt insecure of its ability to stop. I live in the hills above Reno, drive fast, and still have over 30k on my last set of stock replacement pads.

It's not the 'brakes' that are the issue, it's the pads. The Dynatrac pads are pretty aggressive but since they use the stock calipers you can use any brand of replacement.
You'd be amazed at how much better your Jeep stops with it. Even if yours wear out at 20k, the added security this kits adds is worth the cost of a set of pads, but one area
you'll really find them useful is off-road when you're in 4LO and on a ledge and you're standing on the fucking pedal with both feet trying to hold it back. :twocents:

Agreed. You can go thru pads but the stopping power provided is unmatched without having to open up the brake system.

I must not break a lot as Im at 30k+ on mine still.

As a few said I love the ability to actually stop. Compared to the stock breaks I don’t feel like I’m about to run into the car in front of me if they break quick.

Sounds too low something else is probably the issue. Time to pull the wheel off and inspect. We just changed ours after 30K and it has 25% left. The noise we thought was the pad was something else.
