Hey everyone, yeah I'm semi new to this.

But This will be my first multi-day jeep trip with over night tent camping smack in the middle.

Myself and a bunch of jeep buddies are going up to the Rubicon Trail near loon lake,CA towards the end of June...

I just wanted to ask everyone...what would be your check list of things to bring/buy! I have nothing in preparation for this trip as I've never been on one.

So what should I put together/buy??

Any tips would help! Thanks everyone!

Not to sound like a rookie but how's the trail in your experience ??

Full vehicle inspection with fluid change.

Do you need a list of camp gear? Or particularly jeep gear?

Jeep gear
Spare tire or/and tire repair kit/green slime
Recovery gear
Mechanics set
10-19, 21mm sockets cover most with wrenches
Pliers and electrical goodies. Extra fuses
Gloves
Cold/wet weather gear
Emergency food/water
I don't do extra driveline components nor will I ever with my jku I don't wheel hard enough to need them and I don't have the money for upgrades anyways.

If you are still running factory driveshafts you might want to add an 8mm thatching wrench and socket to your setup. It's needed for the factory shafts.

The trail lived up to its name and reputation. Go prepared for everything as it will challenge you even if you are seasoned wheeler.

I went in September at the end of the week and only went with one other rig (who had done the trail many many times). We passed 6 other rigs on the trail so it went fast.

Ultimately it was long and bumpy and challenging. We only stacked rocks one time so that made it go fast as well. It is a lot of huge rocks/boulders.

Just so you know, this has been a pretty good snow year and depending on how things go, you may not be able to run the Rubicon until July. Or at least, all the way through anyway. This video coming up the backside was filmed on 4th of July weekend. We had come a week earlier and the trail just couldn't be run.

That being said, IF you can run it late June, bring plenty of bug repellant. The mosquitos out there will be out in force and will carry you away without it.

Yes I remember we just talked about the whole snow pack situation!
I guess that will make it a little interesting[emoji109]🏼

Anything else man?

One accessory I added to my jeep a while ago that has come in handy more than once is a power inverter. I have this 800 Watt unit.

I use it on the road to charge my laptop, camera, and power my GPS. At camp you can run power tools, spotlights, worklights, etc depending on the size. I hardwired it in and it sits centered between my front seats on the rear driveline hump. They are well worth the small investment.

Thanks, I always wondered what the jk needed. Back in the geo days if I blew a driveshaft I just took it off packed the t case and drove it home.
