Phoenix to Palm Springs off road route?

Hi All

Does anyone know of an off road route to drive to Palm Springs from Phoenix?

I know there won’t be a totally off road route but I thought it would be fun to Cruze the desert for most of my trip.

Not sure why I10 wouldn't work, but following it parallel seems simple enough. Watch out for that whole Colorado River thing though.

There's the Bradshaw trail on the Cali side from Blythe to about Indio.
